Tiny Spalted Red Alder Lidded Box

I was going to see a friend that I've not seen in a few years. I could not go empty handed. I wanted to bring her something that she could use everyday. My wife loves her little bowl that she can put her rings in while she's cooking. I wanted to make something a little different.

I decided to make a small lidded box. I had a very small piece of spalted red alder (I messed up and called it red Alder in the video) that would be perfect for this project. This video also had a first for me which was creating a finial. It was exactly what I pictured in my head! I want to start experimenting with making more of these lidded boxes and coming up with some very creative finials, but that's another project for another day. I hope you enjoy this project as much as I did.
