Mediterranean Bowl (Olive wood and blue resin)
The wood part of this bowl came from a neighbor’s tree that he cut down in his yard. When he cut the log, he didn’t seal the ends which resulted in a lot of cracking. That’s ok because I was planning on using resin anyways and the resin would fill in the cracks. We decided to color the resin with sapphire blue color pigment. The way the resin looked with the wood, made us think of the Mediterranean and hence the name.
The resin is not considered food safe and it’s so stunning that I don’t think I would have used it for food anyway. It will make a beautiful art piece in your home!
